#5 Forza Horizon 5
Best Open World Adventure and Rewards

I often refer to Forza Horizon as the Skyrim of cars, but at this point Skyrim has a lot of catching up to do. Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m a huge petrolhead, and a big fan of racing games. So it was a little odd even for me that leading up to the release of Forza Horizon 5 I genuinely lacked any major excitement for the game because… well, it’s just another Forza Horizon, right?

The thing is… yes, it is just another Forza Horizon, but what I didn’t account for was just how much of a difference all the little upgrades were going to make. The graphics, sound and handling have all been improved in a way that delivers such a phenomenal open-world adventure experience, especially when paired with lots to do and an abundance of rewards. Forza Horizon might be impressive on a technical level, but at its core it’s a bundle of fun, and that’s what matters most.

I made a quick video comparing graphics, sound and handling to the previous game, you can watch it by clicking here.

Review Verdict: ★★★★½

Aside from a few little online niggles at launch that need sorting out, Forza Horizon 5 is one of the best games available so far this generation and a definite contented for Game of the Year. It’s not every day that a “car” game is so good that you would definitely recommend it to just about anyone.

#6 Halo Infinite Multiplayer
Best Multiplayer Experience

We’re still busy playing and enjoying the Halo Infinite single-player campaign, but the majority of our time of late has been spent sinking nearly a hundred hours into Halo Infinite’s free-to-play but ultimately pretty darn excellent multiplayer component.

The team behind Halo Infinite has dug deep to rediscover the core formula behind what makes Halo multiplayer so much fun. As a result we’ve been having a blast, whether matchmaking or getting together in huge local groups and playing private games.

If there’s one huge issue right now aside from some questionable decisions about multiplayer options and progression, its a problem that causes players to get put on distant servers with incredibly high, unstable pings. How much fun you have in a night can heavily depend on what servers you keep getting placed on, and at this point its pretty much an unacceptable issue to keep having to deal with… but I still keep coming back because other new multiplayer shooters this year have been a bit of a dud so far (looking at your Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042).

Review Verdict: ★★★★☆

Halo Infinite Multiplayer is a blast, and manages to find a balance between skill-based gratification and pure fun in a way that not many games are able to capture. We highly recommend that pretty much anyone checks it out, despite some of its very glaring flaws at launch.
