The Last of Us Part 2 Real Locations vs The Game – Video
WARNING – THE LAST OF US PART 2 REAL LOCATIONS MEANS SOME EARLY ENVIRONMENTAL SPOILERS FOR THE GAME (NO STORY SPOILERS).
The Last of Us Part 2 has been pulling some seriously high review score on Metacritic while also being the target of user-review bombing. Whether you loved or hated The Last of Us Part II (find out what we thought in our review), there’s no denying that it’s one of, if not the best looking game to date.
One of the things that makes the game and its world so incredibly immersive and beautiful, is the aged version of Earth that’s been left to both grow and die as nature sees fit. While many post-apocalyptic settings in game and films are often drab and grey, the lush world of The Last of Us 2 brings a welcome balance to the heavy topics that are being explored.
This led me to go digging online to find some real-life comparisons to areas in the game, and I found one that really shows it off very well indeed.
Youtube channel ElAnalistaDeBits (via GameRant) has put together a great set of comparisons between real-life Seattle and in-game post-outbreak Seattle. As someone who isn’t very familiar with Seattle landmarks beyond the space needle, I was stunned to see just how accurate the areas were. Not only that, but just how beautifully designed the post-outbreak versions in the game are. The world has been so beautifully crafted that I’m considering another playthrough for just the photo mode alone.
This was also another reminder that Horizon Zero Dawn (our review here) was an absolutely gorgeous look at a far future earth, and our popular gallery of images from the game can be viewed here if you want to see a whole lot more of a very pretty Earth from another time. Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC now so if you don’t have a Playstation but your PC is powerful, you should really check it out.
Not to be confused with Forza Horizon, but hey we have a popular photo/screenshot gallery of images for that game you can check out too!
