Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Review – PS4 | Top Deck

What is it?

A remake of both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, combined for a fresh and up-to-date skating experience; dropping tunes and tricks at the same time.

Verdict: There wasn’t much wrong with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater back in the day, and now it’s better than ever!

Review:

I really dislike this era of remakes we seem to have entered, but Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 made me create a shortlist of games I feel need to be remade. It’s just that good!

There is no shortage of content as it contains both the original games, faithfully made to be more stunning and silky smooth for current gen. The genius in this remake is that, even though I know it looks better and plays better, I still feel like I did when I played the originals.

Trick and Treat

It’s a game about skateboarding; I did some simple tricks, got some air and got rewarded with some points. I thought I was good. I lost sleep… a lot of it, pretending to be a skater boy while listening to amazing music. But I wanted to be better.

I skated around shopping malls, museums and schools and never noticed because the design just works. The game tried to suck me in with milestones for each level, but I just enjoyed exploring them and pulling sick moves while doing it. I just skated.

I changed my character and I studied impossible tricks. I stitched strings of tricks together to get amazing multiplier points. I got even better. And then I felt awful. I will never be able to skate this well.

But who cares? I love this game!
