Skip or Buy? | What Did You Think Of TitanFall 2’s Multiplayer Test

So the Titanfall 2 Multiplayer Test was live this weekend and many of us had the fortune of trying it out. Some of us have put in hours and hours into the first game while others hadn’t played it before.

I personally found it to be quite a startling shift from the first, and put some of my comments up on Twitter but it was also clear that some were enjoying the experience just fine. For me, the different way Titans are handled, the lack of burn cards and a lot of the overall pace of the game was quite a difference. This is however an early build so we don’t know what’s going to be in the final game yet and what’s permanent, but that aside let’s hear what everyone thinks.

So, what did you think and have you played a Titanfall before? Let us know in the comments!

Update: If you didn’t play the first game I found a video showing some pretty standard gameplay from the first game that you can watch through and compare.

I ‘loved’ it. It is not perfect and there are somethings that need to be worked on/out, but overall… I pre-ordered!

    I liked:

Titans now feel like Jaegers and not walking tanks.
    Movement and gunplay is great.
More ‘battlefield open’ maps in rotation.
    Amped hard point is cool.
Ping to UK was acceptable (160ms)
Afrikaans accepts for the one faction!

Pilot vs Pilot just feels empty. Maps are far to big for just 12 players on a map.
Bounty AI: same spawn location over and over, no tactics. It needs work.
Bounty bank: far to easy to camp it. Needs some kind of system to combat it.
Camping over all: large map + Sniper = campers. They need to work on that.

Overall I liked it enough to get it (in the same month as BF1 and Gears!)
I am not a fan of the pilot vs pilot and I miss the “AI grunts” in the larger battles, but overall it is shaping up nicely.

Never played Titanfall. Will definitely grab it. Hope there is a single player campaign too.

Do you mean Titanfall 2? There’s definitely a single player campaign

I tried the test/beta/nibble of Titanfall 2 and my first day was ok, but then yesterday I played several games of the Amped Hardpoint and I honestly had a helluva time.

Having never played Titanfall 1, I have nothing to compare it to and having watched the video above, it’s hard to criticize TF2 for changes they made because seeing it is different to playing it.

I much preferred Amped Hardpoint to the other 2 modes…The Attrition mode in the video seems like fun and it’ll be interesting to see if that’ll be back for TF2.
