Does Far Cry 4 Play The Same On PC With A Controller? Ubisoft Confirms

[UPDATE: Our Far Cry 4 Review is live and you can read it right here!]

If you’re the kind of gamer who has been lucky enough to bag himself one of the new-gen consoles as well as a sweet PC gaming rig, you may be sitting with the choice of which platform to buy Far Cry 4 on. If you’re also the kind of gamer who likes to flop back onto a couch and use a gamepad to play their PC games, then you would maybe want to pass up the cheaper, possibly better looking version of the game and rather get it on console, especially if your favourite control scheme wasn’t fully supported such as with titles like Battlefield 4.

After an interview with a member of the Far Cry 4 developer team, we reached out to Ubisoft via our local distributor Megarom to confirm whether or not their new title would offer console-like controller support for the PC version, and were supplied with the following:

“If you switch to PAD input on PC, it’s like playing on a console. You have all the functionality that comes with playing with a pad and making the pad feel great to play.…as well as the freedom to enable, disable assists, sensitivity and control options as you would on a console.”

Good news? Indeed. So if you were on the fence about which version to buy, we hope this bit of extra information helps you make your decision.

Be sure to read our upcoming interview with Production Manager Ryan Boyer before Far Cry 4 launches on November 18.

The question is does the game have proper sensivity like aiming down the sights? Or it is slower to be more suitable to a cosnole like far cry 3 and watchdogs?

From the quote it seems that they will have sensitivity settings that should at least allow people to alter it to their liking. I hate it when a game lets you aim down the sight but doesn’t drop the sensitivity down to cater for the zoomed view

Thats exactly my point on mouse you want to maintain the same sensivity while aiming down the sights. If its like watchdogs and far cry 3, the sensivity will be lower to ne more suitable to thumbsticks.

I played Far Cry 3 on PC with an Xbox Controller and was very satisfied. If Far Cry 4 has the same support I’ll be Excited to buy it. Any Comments?
